Resumen:
In this paper I will present data about the animal exploitation among south American tropical hunter-gatherers and I will discuss issues related to the ritual anatomy of. I will basically center my discussion on the three ethnoarchaeological cases I have studied: the nukak in the Colombian Amazon, the hoti in the High Orinoco River and the awa-guaja in the pre-amazonian forest in Brazil as I have shown in a previous paper. In the last case, I will also examine how food taboos influenced faunal consumption and processing patterns and how these can be traced in the archaeological record, in specific contexts.
