Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a hereditary disease caused by a qualitative andquantitative deficit in the synthesis of collagen. The severity of this disease varieswidely. It is characterized by bone fragility and progressive skeletal deformities andhas shown poor response to medical treatments.
