Currently our view of cancer includes the tumor microenvironment. The dialoguebetween the tumor cells and its microenvironment is determinant of the characteristicsof the tumor progression. Heme Oxygenase 1 (HO-1) is critical for cellularhomeostasis. In prostate cancer (PCa), HO-1 may have a role beyond its enzymaticactivity.
