Resumen:
Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common type of cancer diagnosed in men being bone the main site of progression. Tumor cells interact with the bone microenvironment and disrupt the tissue balance. Alterations in energy metabolism have emerged as one of the hallmarks of cancer, evidenced by the numerous connections between signaling pathways that include oncoproteins and key enzymes in energy metabolism. Variations in a single gene could orchestrate a change in the metabolic fate of the cell and thus confer an adaptative advantage. Here we evaluated cellular energetic deregulations of PCa cells growing in an indirect co-culture transwell system with osteoblast precursors (MC3T3 cells). RNAseq was performed on tumoral cells and the differential gene expression analyzed. We used the REACTOME database to filter for metabolism associated genes.
