Genomics must be combined with proteomics and metabolomics to rationalize a therapeutic strategy that considers gene expression, protein expression and metabolic profiles in the target organ to gain inside into other pathways implicated in the same or contributory tissues. Multidisciplinary strategies such as this provide an interactive process by which findings are translated into novel therapies.
