Technological paradigms and agriculture. Lessons from de diffusion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in commercial farms in Argentina

The central questions of the paper are:? In which ways ICT and related technologies promote the competitiveness ofagriculture productions (commercial farmers)?? Which are the main features of the learning processes associated with thesetechnologies?? Who are the central actors in the learning processes an which is the farmers role?The Main Thesis are‐ ICT are enabling technologies. Their adoption requires learning processes and theinteraction of internal and external sources of knowledge‐ ICT diffusion in Argentinean agriculture has facilitated and improved farmer?sinformation management, and the efficiency of the production and the commercial processes. Less evident has been its impact on the farmer C and T KWmanagement.‐ The main actors benefiting from the learning processes in the Argentinean agriculture are translators, advisors and other services suppliers, in close interaction with the input and machinery suppliers
