Resumen:
Chemical, biochemical, biogeochemical, and environmental studies of sulfur have proliferated because of the recognition of its role in many important processes on various ecosystems of the earth [1]. For example, the sulfur has an important role in electron ttransfer systems (RTS), being the ETS an integral component in a diverse range of important biological functions including photosynthesis, registration and nitrogen fixation [2] Sulfu is also present in urea, chich is the main end product of protein metabolism in humans and other mammalian animals. Urea has been extenively studied because it is one of the simplest biological molecules and one of the simplest diamides used in organic chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry [3] In this Activity report are presented S K Xanes studies on a set of different sulfur-containing ligands, which have been studies and characterized by different experimental and computational techniques [4], and are important in biochemical process, for expample, ETS and urea porcess. These ligands show different electronic behavior depending on the terminal structures or atomic configuration, and S K XANES is revealed as an optimal technique for a electronic characterization of these systems.
