Resumen:
Abstract: Phytophthora sojae causes root and stemrot, one of the most important diseases of soybeanworldwide. Genetic diversity of 32 Phytophthora sojaeisolates of different geographic origin from Argentinawas evaluated with RAPD markers. The isolates werecollected from diseased soybean plants and soilsamples from Santa Fe, Buenos Aires, Co ´ rdoba andEntre Rý ´os provinces, in the Pampeana Region. DNAwas amplified with 20 decanucleotides primers. Sevenprimers amplified 49 fragments, of which 35 werepolymorphic, indicating high variability. RAPD anal-ysis detected intraspecific variability even amongisolates of the same geographic origin.Key words: Argentina, Phytophthora root rot,RAPD, soybean
