Resumen:
Abstract We have examined the occurrence of Neotyphodium in native grasses from Argentina. Herbarium material and plants collected from field were analysed. Neotyphodium was detected in 34 out than 150 analysed host species throughout the country. The macro and micromorfology was   . We have detected high variation in the incidence among natural populations of some species. The existence of some relation between the incidence of endophytes in different populations of four host species (Phleum alpinum, Bromus seifolius, Poa rigidifolia and Poa bonariensis) and environmental conditions was tested. Results suggest that environmental factors such as precipitation and soil properties could affect the incidence of endophytes in native grass populations.
