Methods: 13 CDK patients and 11 control subjects with clinically normal eyes and no history of eye disease or eye surgery were recruited for this study.Tear samples were pre-fractionated using a hydrazide-resin capture method, and the previously N-glycosylated peptides were then subjected to two-dimensional nano-LC-nano-ESI-MS/MS analysis to obtain peptide fragmentation patterns for identification through protein database searches. Quantitative comparisons of N-glycoprotein profiles in tear fluid of patients with CDK and to that of non-diseased controls used glycopeptide capture, iTRAQ labeling and 2D nano-LC-nano-ESI-MS/MS analysis. <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:宋体; mso-font-alt:"Arial Unicode MS"; mso-font-charset:80; mso-generic-font-family:auto; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:1 0 16778254 0 262144 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0pt; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:宋体; mso-ansi-language:EN-US; mso-fareast-language:EN-US;} @page Section1 {size:612.0pt 792.0pt; margin:70.85pt 85.05pt 70.85pt 85.05pt; mso-header-margin:36.0pt; mso-footer-margin:36.0pt; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> The significant up-regulation of N-glycosylated haptoglobin in CDK, which is related to exposure to ultraviolet irradiation, could be clinically significant in terms of disease etiology and biomarker discovery. Further analysis of the biochemical pathways of significant proteins should improve our understanding of CDK
