Resumen:
Intestinal macrophages are derived from peripheral blood monocytes that reach the lamina propia (LP) in a CCR2-dependent manner. As they arrive and differentiate, monocytes reduce the expression of Ly6c reciprocally acquiring CD64, MHC-II and F4/80 molecules. This pathway is called ?The monocyte-waterfall?, ocurrs phisiologically for the in-situ macrophage renewal, but also gets interrupted at inflamatory conditions.
