In the following text we will analyze in the first place the relationship between theology and canon law on historiography about the 15th century conciliarism with the aim of explaining some non expected consequences of Brian Tierney?s thesis. In second place, we will study the relationship between theology and canon law in Jean Gerson?s thought on general councils emphasizing his vison on lex and his use of the term epikeia. Finally, we will study how some theologians and lawyers used a different kind of style in their arguments on the debates on Tyrannicide during the Council of Constance (1414-1418).
