The work De theologicis complementis constitutesa sort of compendium of theological figures. In this context catches theattention of the proposal of a problem about the conception of number. Indeed inn. 10 of the edition Cusanus poses a controversy with respect to theontological status of number. This controversy takes place between Pythagoreansand Peripatetics. Whereas the Pythagoreans have considered the number to be asubstance, the Peripatetics have judged it to be an accident. The aim of this paper is toanalyze this controversy in order to show Cusanus? solution to the problem. To thiseffect, I will base my analysis on n. 9 and 10 of the edition of the work.
