Resumen:
New Methodologies to Approach the Anatolian Myths of the Vanishing Gods The aim of this lecture is to present a different methodology to interpret the spatial symbolism embraced within Hittite mythology. Thus, taking as a point of departure previous studies about the ?myths of the vanishing gods?, it will be suggest an approach which includes: 1- the texts first compostion and that of the following editions and copies (according to the texts? ductus); 2- the places where the tablets have been stored during the Hittite history (i.e. at Hattusa, Büyükkale?s Buildings, Temple I or other temples in the Upper City, the House on the Slope, etc.); 3- the tablets connection with specific socio-historical situations, an finally, the myths? meaning ?for what concepts born within other fields of research (such as ?cultural memory?, ?landscape? and ?symbolic representation?) will be applied.
