Resumen:
The royal kinship and the development of the royal funerary cult strongly contributed to reinforce the control of the emergent Egyptian state over its territory from the beginning of the Early Dynastic period onwards. Egyptian settlements and necropolis were organized according to the aims of the Egyptian monarchy to ensure its control over people and resources from inside as well from outside Egypt. Estates and domains were created to play this role, and so the royal necropolis.
