Resumen:
Las Siete Partidas was the most important secular legal code of the Middle Ages. One of its goals was to legislate on all possible and known topics. This aim can be explained in two ways. On the one hand, as a legal project to give to the rising Spain a legal compendium that would answer all possible questions regarding the preservation of order and peace through civil means. On the other hand, as an ambitious political project that intended to demarcate through royal discourse the areas of activity in which the rest of the world powers could operate. Based on this second point, the author analyzes the regulation of the ritual dimension of the bishops? and, in parallel, the kings? initiation (P. I, IV, 12 and 13). Leaving aside the possibility of failure or success of this primitive legal code, this analysis provides a textual construction of Alphonsine policy.
