Molecular identification and characterization of manganese oxidizing bacteria isolated from biological filtration water plants.

In this work Manganese oxidizing bacteria were isolated and identified from BioCIS-UNR® Water Treatment Plants. Thereby, samples were collected, and specific culture media were used to perform the selection and isolation. The ability of Mn oxidation of selected isolates was confirmed by the Leucoberbelin blue assay. In addition, the isolates of interest were identified by molecular methods.
