Resumen:
XV Congreso Latinoamericano XXX Reunión Argentina de Fisiología Vegetal.Simposio de Biología de Sistemas. Coordinadores: Estela Valle y Fernando Carrari.Lunes 22 de septiembre de 2014.For most of the last century, biochemical studies were conducted in a reductionist manner whereby cells were divided into compartments and examined them in isolation. The intrinsic assumption is that the parts will function in isolation as they do in the cell. Although a large amount of biological knowledge was accumulated by such approaches, there are several problems with the reductionist philosophy. This symposium aims to introduce tools and concepts relevant for a holistic approach to tackle problems inherent to physiological mechanism in plants. 15:00-15:25 h.
