Resumen:
In this work we study the behavior of the total Balmer Discontinuity (BD) of classical Be stars seen equator-on, as a function of the height and the density structure of the circumstellar disc. We use an approximate method to calculate these effects. Results from detailed calculations of the radiative transfer problem in spherical circumstellar envelopes (CE) are recovered to infer the effects produced by flat circumstellar discs. The main conclusion we reach is that in Be stars seen equator-on, the second component of the BD cannot be in emission if the CE is strongly flattened. The second component of the BD can be in emission only when the vertical geometrical thickness of the disc is large and its density is high enough.
