Resumen:
The giant HII region NGC 604 offers an unlimited source of knowledge about intriguing and puzzling subjects related with massive star formation and evolutionprocesses, their environments and physical conditions, the initial mass function for massive stars and starformationrates among many others. In this work we present our firsts results of NGC 604 near infrared photometry (JHKs) performed with NIRI images obtained at Gemini North. We detected 164 sourcesthat show IR excess, which points the places were we should look for star formation processes currently taking place. The colorcolordiagram also reveals a great number of objects that could be giant/supergiant stars, but also unresolve small tight clusters.
