Resumen:
Low-mass starburst galaxies in the local Universeare convenient laboratories to study in detail starformation, as well as feedback processes and chemicalenrichment, under physical conditions approachingthose in high redshift galaxies. We aim at providingnew insights to address these fundamentalissues by studying a subset of compact, starburstingdwarf galaxies at z0.1-0.3, also referred to asGreen Peas (GPs). These rare extreme emissionline galaxies (EW(OIII)>5000A) are characterizedby unusually high specic star formation rates, lowmetallicity and extreme ionization conditions, whichmake them unique local proxies of the galaxy populationleading the reionization process at z>6. Usingvery deep, long-slit, high-resolution spectroscopywith the WHT we studied the warm ionized gas kinematicsin a representative sample of GPs (Amorn etal. 2012, ApJ 754L, 22). Remarkably, we nd inall cases complex emission-line proles showing highvelocity dispersion and the superposition of a verybroad and several narrower components on a spatialextent of few kpc. To unravel the complex dynamicalprocesses taking place in these high-dispersion(disk?) galaxies, we have started an integral eldspectroscopy study tracing both star formation andgas kinematics, as provided by GMOS in its IFUmode. In this contribution we present rst resultsfor the ionized gas kinematics of the starburst dwarfgalaxy SDSS J0839 at z=0.147. GMOS North observationwith the R831, providing a R=5000 resolutionat H reveal changes in average velocity and proleshape of forbidden and recombination lines. Withthis information we have derived velocity and velocitydispersion maps, tracking the spatial variationof conspicuous line ratios among the eld of SDSSJ0839.
