Resumen:
Chemically peculiar stars show intensity variations in the spectral lines of some chemical elements. These variations might correlate with the rotation period of the star. A possible explanation to this phenomenon is the existence of spots relate to regions of different density for a particular chemical element. Diffusion is a possible mechanism that would allow the formation of these spots. In this work, we show how magnetic fields can affect the diffusion processes, favoring or not the spot?s formation, whose presence results in variations of the intensities of the observed line profiles. In particular, the variations in the lines of helium are discussed.
