Resumen:
The precise determination of the spiral structure of our Galaxy has become an extremely complexand misleading task due to several factors: a) the Sun is located in the middle of the plane and surrounded bydark clouds |with some exceptions| in the 360 degrees of longitude; b) given this position of the Sun in theGalaxy, spiral arms, if viewed, appear superimposed along the line of sight; c) inspection of external galaxiesshows that the young population tends to be concentrated in spiral arms and, by analogy, that is the populationwe are looking for in our Galaxy and for which accurate distance estimations are needed. We present preliminaryresults of a study of spiral structure around the Sun including the arms of Orion, Perseus and Carina, using starswith distances calculated by the method of spectroscopic parallax. With this type of studies that provide data ondistances not aected by ambiguities, we believe that there may be reasonably accurate answers to interpretativedisputes about the nearby spiral structure and independent of the rotation curve.
