Resumen:
Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have attracted much interest because of their wide applications in areas such as diagnostics and biomedicine therapies [1-3], drug transport [4], among others. In this work the optical, magnetic and structural characteristics of the colloids produced by ultra-short pulse laser ablation of an ironsolid target immersed in ethanol and acetone. Colloidal suspensions were analyzed using different techniques such as optical extinction spectroscopy (OES), sample vibration magnetometry (VSM), micro-Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to evaluate the shape, size distribution, structure, composition and magnetization.OES reveals an absorption band in the UV region for both solvents. The micro-Raman spectroscopy shows that the colloids are heterogeneous in their composition, with hematite and magnetiteNPs in ethanol and acetone. The magnetic properties are studied by a vibratory magnetometer, which results in NPs in the superparamagnetic state. We also show that, under certain experimental conditions, iron oxide NPs of sub-micrometric size agglomerate following fractal patterns showing self-similar properties. References:[1] E. A.
