Resumen:
The fluorene derivatives compounds with a p-extended conjugation are interesting molecule systems due their uniquephotoluminescent response and crystalline and optical properties, applied to the development of nano-optics and nano-electronics devices. Their synthesis involves a sequence of specific reactions, like ?Sonogashira? cross-coupling (between aryl iodides and terminal acetylenes) followed by a carbonyl olefinations or ?Wittig? reactions. These series allow obtaining several products with a higher pi-extended conjugation from the fluorene main structure. One of the most relevant intermediates synthesized was 9-(p-iodo-benzylidene)-9H-fluorene (1). Its crystallographic and photoluminescence properties were characterized by using different techniques: X-ray Diffraction (XRD), UV-visible, for comparing behaviors between thin filmsand solutions (UV-Vis), and Fluorescence spectroscopies.
