Peatlands are pedosystems resulting from successive accumulation of plant remains at boggy pedo- environments. The fate of the iron minerals in these heterogeneous is still not well understood. This work intends to trace chemical changes detected through Mössbauer spectroscopy and other complementary techniques in a peatland located in the Minas Gerais state, Brazil.
