Resumen:
The main goal of a radiotherapy treatment is to provide theprescribed radiation dose to the tumor while minimizing healthy tissueirradiation. Correct placement of the patient on the treatment couchis imperative on every fraction as well as early detection of any shapechanges that may the patient suer along the therapy, because it aectsthe dose distribution.Structured illumination by fringe projection is typically used for ndingan object´s spatial dimensions by lighting it with a pattern and tak-ing a photo from a specic site. In this paper we propose a dierentapproach for this technique: given the object´s dimensions, and by com-puting fringes shape, its projection can be used to locate this objectin a specic place; only when the object is in the right chosen positionand preserves its original shape and form, would be able to observe thepattern on the photo.Verication of patient´s correct position on treatment couch and shapechanges detection nearby the radiation eld are feasible using the struc-tured illumination based method presented in this work: a potentiallyuseful tool for external radiotherapy treatments.
