In thepresentwork,wereportab-initiostudiesofthemagneticpropertyvariationswithpressureof both ironsitesinthestructureofFe4N, usingfull-potentiallinearizedaugmentedplanewavemethod and thePerdew–Burke–Ernzerhoffunctionalandgeneralizedgradientapproximationtodescribethe exchange-correlationpotentialarereported.TheresultsshowthatthemagneticmomentofFeIis almost constantwhilethemagneticmomentofFeIIpresentsadiscontinuitywhenthelatticeparameter is varied.Thisisreflectedinthecompressionofthespinupanddownenergybandstodifferent concentrationpoints.ThevariationintheFeIImagnetizationarisesmainlyfromchangesinthedxy, dxz, dyz and dx2 y2 orbitals. 4N, usingfull-potentiallinearizedaugmentedplanewavemethod and thePerdew–Burke–Ernzerhoffunctionalandgeneralizedgradientapproximationtodescribethe exchange-correlationpotentialarereported.TheresultsshowthatthemagneticmomentofFeIis almost constantwhilethemagneticmomentofFeIIpresentsadiscontinuitywhenthelatticeparameter is varied.Thisisreflectedinthecompressionofthespinupanddownenergybandstodifferent concentrationpoints.ThevariationintheFeIImagnetizationarisesmainlyfromchangesinthedxy, dxz, dyz and dx2 y2 orbitals.
