Resumen:
Las Diaguitas y El Cantadero are two tungsten occurrences form Velasco range, La Rioja province, Argentina. They are hydrothermal deposits with vein-type morphology being quartz the main mineral of the veins. The host-rock in Las Diaguitas is a Carboniferous porphyroid granite without signs of deformation and a gneiss is the host-rock in El Cantadero. According to the X-ray diffraction studies on wolframite, the great idiomorphic crystals of 2 to 5 cm from Las Diaguitas show a hübnerite45-85 composition and for the small crysts of 1 to 2 cm from the same occurrence  a hübnerite45-52 and almost pure hübnerite composition are inferred. Two small crysts of wolframite from El Cantadero occurrence had given different results, being one of them Fe-bearing (hübnerite18-25) and the other one Mn-bearing (hübnerite72-75).
