Abstract. PRELIMINARY MINERALOGIC
STUDY OF HYDROTHERMAL ALTERATION OF
WALL ROCK OF THE VETA ESPERANZA SUDESTE,
CATAMARCA PROVINCE, ARGENTINA. The Agua
de Dionisio district is located in Belen department,
Catamarca province. The stratigraphic
secuence is conformed by low grade
metamorphic rocks, continental clastic sedimentites,
Farallón Negro volcanic complex,
sandstones and tuffites. In the district there
are disseminated and veins mineralization
genetically linked with the miocene magmatism.
Alto la Blenda includes veins with gold
and silver mineralization. The present contribution
deals about preliminary study of the
characteristics (type, style and intensity) of
hydrothermal alteration of the wall rock of
Veta Esperanza Sudeste. In this sector the
monzonite have pervasive sericitic and argillic
alterations. The breccia have silicic and
argillic alteration.
