Resumen:
Abstract: The “Sepulturas Limestones” (Harrington in Harrington and Leanza,1957) in its type area, fossils and age. Jujuy Province, Argentina. This contribution deals with the age, lithology, macro and microfossils from the Sepultura Limestones,a controversial Lower Ordovician unit of northwestern Argentina. The trilobite Pliomeridius sulcatus Leanza y Baldis is defined as a zonal trilobite index for these rocks covering a well defined age-interval. In addition, conodonts belonging to the Trapezognatus diprion/Oepikodus intermedius  Zone are mentioned and analyzed biostratigraphically and paleogeographically.
