Resumen:
Previous results obtained in our laboratory have shown that gonadectomy (Gx) increases Kallikrein Kinin System activity (KKS) in SHR of both sexes, as well as, diminishes Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP). This increment in KKS activity is accompanied by an increase in plasma Aldosterone. Besides, a gender difference was observed in Urinary Kalikrein activity (UKa). To elucidate the role of Aldosterone upon KKS activity, KLK synthesis, renal kallikrein content (RK) and UKa were studied after the administration of an Aldosterone receptor inhibitor, Spironolactone (S).  UKa diminished in Gx male and female SHR after S treatment with respect to the non-treated Gx animals (p
