Resumen:
Stretch marks are atrophic lesions that do not offer clinical aggravating, but it is a cause of great discomfort for the affected people. Their appearance causes are still unclear and may be classified according to their developmental stage. When arise it feature reddish, being classified as red streaks, and then became a whitish color, which are the white streaks. In addition to this visual diagnosis, the fibers of collagen and elastin present in the marks are different. In this work it was found by Raman spectroscopy that the intensity of the collagen and fibrillin glycosaminoglycan peaks present with greater intensity in the red streaks when compared to white streak. The determination of the biochemical differences between the two types of stretch marks will allow further studies are guided. This knowledge can be applied to develop new cosmetic products and aesthetic treatments that act directly on the different types of stretch marks. The use of Confocal Raman spectroscopy enabled the study in vivo, noninvasively. This technique has applications in several studies, but scarce for stretch marks.
