Resumen:
Direct evidence is presented that the otherwise thermodynamically forbidden reduction of As(V) by conduction band electrons of the semiconductor can be driven in the dark by accumulated electrons stored in alcoholic TiO2 nanoparticles. Accumulation of electrons and participation in As(V) reduction was directly followed by UV-vis spectrophotometry and by Electron Paramagnetic Resonance, detected as Ti(III) species.
