Resumen:
In the past few years, polymer composites reinforced with nanomaterials have attracted much attention from either academic and industrial circles, due the need of develop a new generation of materials with tailor made properties to structural and multifunctional applications. Carbon nanotubes (CNT) are of particular interest to reinforce epoxy composites due their unique properties. However, until now the poor dispersion and interfacial adhesion between the CNT and the matrix leads to no significantly increase on the physical properties of this nanocomposites. Recently works shows that the incorporation of two nanofillers to the polymer matrix leads to a synergistic effect that causes important improvements on the final properties of the composite [1]. In this work we develop a hybrid nanofiller that consists of hercynite nanoparticles (NP) attached to the external walls of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and incorporate this hybrid filler in epoxy matrices.
