Resumen:
In the present chapter, we will discuss mechanistic aspects of reactions involvinghydroxylamine and derivatives which produce HNO as an intermediate, but are normallynot used as HNO donors. Inorganic as well as biologically relevant reactionswill be addressed. Nitroxyl can be generated from hydroxylamine-derived compoundssuch as Piloty?s acids and Meldrum?s acids, which are HNO donorsdescribed in detail in Chapter 3.
