Resumen:
Modification of the ligand L in the mixed-valence cyanide-bridged complexes [Ru(tpy)(bpy)(μ-CN)Ru(bpy) 2 (L)] 3+/4+ (L= Cl − ( 1 2+ ), NCS − ( 2 3+ ), 4-dimethylaminopyridine ( 3 4+ ) or acetonitrile ( 4 4+ )) reduces the difference between the redox potentials of the ruthenium ions and leads to a transition from a localized to a delocalized configuration.
