Resumen:
Here we report a spectroscopic, electrochemical and computa-tional study of cytochrome c showing that nitration of Tyr74induces Tyr deprotonation, which is coupled to Met/Lys axial ligandexchange, and results in concomitant gain of peroxidatic activity atphysiological pH.
