Resumen:
Corn is one of the most Economically important crops worldwide due to the many products that are obtained from it. Abiotic factors affect the performance of this cereal; the stress caused by water deficit is one of the most important. The main negative effects it has on plants, due to a decline in photosynthetic efficiency, dehydration, and reduced access to nutrients. The use of biological inoculants, developed from a group of bacteria called PGPB, is a technology that could be used to increase crop yields. The aim of this study was evaluate whether exist a bioprotector effect exerted by these bacteria, growing maize seedlings under water deficit conditions. For this purpose, using corn seedlings were grown substrate perlite, and were subjected to different treatments. Content parameters as abscisic acid, ethylene, reactive oxygen species, cell membrane damage and the expression of a gene associated with the response to drought stress were quantified. The results showed the effect bio protector resultant plan‐bacteria interaction in situations of wáter deficit.
