Resumen:
A right jaw
of a jaguar (Carnivora: Felidae) was recovered from the Arroyo Feliciano
Formation (Late Pleistocene; Lujanian Age) near the locality of San José in
Department of Colón, Province of Entre Ríos in the Argentina and is recognized
here as Panthera onca. The specimen belong to one of the largest felid
widely distributed in the New Word during the Pleistocene. The finding
represents the first record report of Panthera onca in the province
of Entre Ríos
in the Argentine Mesopotamia from the Lujanian Age (Late Pleistocene- Early
Holocene).
