Resumen:
A dynamical downscaling technique, in which a regional climate model (RCA3-E at 50-km horizontal resolution) is nested into a global coupled model (ECHAM5/MPI-OM) was used to study the effects of twenty-first-century climate change of South America. Two 20-yr time-slice simulations were performed (1980- 1999 and 2080-2099). The present day performance of the combined system was compared against CRU data and against an additional simulation performed with RCA3-E driven by ERA40 reanalysis.
