Resumen:
BackgroundIntestine is the organ where helminth parasite Trichinella spiralis establishes and reproduces. This work aims to evaluate Wistar rat intestinal lamina´s propria cell suspensions (ILPCS) ability to kill T. spiralis migrant larvae (mL) by an antibody-dependent mechanism (ADCC). Non-infected ILPCS (ILPCSNI) or 3, 6 and 13 days p.i. (ILPCSI) were compared. Relative percentages of leukocyte types in ILPCS were analyzed.MethodsIn ADCC assays mL were incubated with ILPCSNI or ILPCSI at 3, 6 and 13 days p.i. and anti-mL cytotoxic serum (CS) or non-infected rat sera as positive and negative controls, respectively. Results are expressed as mL mortality percentages. Leukocyte formula in ILPCS was determined by Giemsa staining. Results1. ILPCSNI were able to kill mL only in the presence of specific antibodies (n= 5, one-way ANOVA, p
