Resumen:
The aim of enzyme immobilization is to develop a robust biocatalyst able to work under inonnative and harsh operational conditions with an extended lifetime. Biocatalyst immobilization can be defined as physical confinement in certain regions of the space. There are two main alternatives for the industrial use of biocatalysis: the design of the process based on the available immobilized enzyme, or the design of immobilized enzymes around the industrial process.
