Resumen:
The existing formats are designed for relatively short, high verbal intensity sessions; focus on a narrow range of elements (e.g. speech transcription) and are adapted to a single language at a time. We need an annotation system that is suited for the analysis of children?s everyday, realworld language experiences across contexts and cultures. The desired characteristics are usability across multiple common platforms; fit for daylong recordings: Not transcription-centric and suited for sparse annotation within a longer file; oriented toward automation: Suggested (customizable) annotation types that tie into the development of automated annotation tools; designed for individual and community use: Highly flexible template-based annotation structure with a forum for sharing both general and project-specific templates.
