Resumen:
This study aims to analyze the gestures produce by 5 year old children when they tell oral fictional narratives in 3 interactional conditions: individually, in dyads, in triads using 4 different semiotic materials: puppets, app for tablet, toys, augmented reality app. 15 5 year old children that attend two preschools in an urban marginalized neighborhood in Buenos Aires city participated in this study. The children were randomly assigned to one of three groups: 1) 5 target children: participate in all the conditions; 2) 5 children that participated in dyads and triads; 3) 5 children that participated in triads. The corpus consisted of 180 video filmed narratives. 12 narratives produced by each of the target children. In each condition the children prepared their narrative using one of the four semiotic materials and then had to tell the researcher their narrative without using the material. A qualitative analysis was carried out in order to identify the gestures made during the narrative without the materials. The results showed that the children used to types of gestures: gestures that represent the character´s actions and gestures that represent the action previously done with the material. Differences were found in the type of gesture depending on the material used.
