Cross National Validation of Prosociality Scale in Argentina and Chile

The present study examined the measurement properties of the prosociality scale developed by Caprara and colleagues (2005) in Chilean and Argentinean young adults college students samples. Consistently with previous cross-cultural validation of the scale (Tramontano, Caprara, Steca, Di Giunta, Eisenberg, Kupfer et al. 2009), the results attest the monodimensionality, as well as partial metric and scalar invariance of a 14-item reduced version of the scale across the two Latin-American countries. This research represents an additional step forward in the assessment of prosocial behavior in different cultural contexts, fostering more adequate cross-cultural comparisons.
