Resumen:
Cucurbitacins are highly oxygenated tetracyclic triterpenes found predominantly in plants of the family Cucurbitaceae. Previous studies showed that these compounds are responsible for the broad spectrum of biological activities of these plants, highlighting anti-inflammatory and antitumoral activities, but with high toxicity. There isn’t studies of structure-activity relationship which have established the regions of the molecule responsible for the biological action and toxicity. In this sense, we synthesized dihydrocucurbitacin B derivatives, aiming to establish the parts of the structure responsible for different actions.
