Resumen:
For grazing incidence fast atom diffraction (GIFAD), the spot-beam effect associated with the contribution coming from different positions of the focus point of the incident particles is studied. Such a focusing effect allows projectiles to explore different zones of a single crystallographic channel when a narrow surface area is coherently lighted. In addition, the spot-beam effect contributes to deteriorate the quantum coherence of GIFAD, affecting the visibility of the interference patterns and leading to the gradual quantum-classical transi-tion of the spectra.
