Resumen:
The analysisof the site atmospheric profile at the upper layers of the tropospherefor the upcoming Antarcticnode at Marambio Station of the LAGOCollaboration (Latin American Giant Observatory) has been conducted toassess theperturbation expected at intense geomagnetic storms and its consequencefor the cosmic rayssimulations. These results will help to improve theaccuracy of the cosmic rays numerical simulations and tounderstandthe expected behavior of the particle fluxes once the node isoperative. The climatology of thetemperature and pressure height profiles atMarambio (from ground up to 35km height) have been characterizedusingballoon soundings (from 1998 up to 2016) removing the 14 days spanaround the geomagnetic storm event. Then the profiles before and afterthe event were studied to find if there were a departure from theexpectedclimatology at different seasons. Our preliminary results indicatethat at the day of the geomagnetic storm and up 7days later, layers above20 km tend to cool in summer while in winter the effect is similar butaround 20 km, belowthat height there is no significative effect.Improvements on the water Cherenkov detector design will be alsopresentedbased on simulation expected performance.
