Resumen:
We analyzedballoon sounding data gathered at the Argentinean Marambio Antarcticstation from 1998 to2016 (inclusive) by the National MeteorologicalService of Argentina, in order to study the atmospheric profileswithheight of temperature and pressure variables. During the study, andtaking into account seasonality, wehave found the associated climatologyat Marambio station in order to compare the same profiles during5cases of intense geomagnetic storms (GS) where the balloon measurementswhere available. We compute thetemperature anomalies for the day ofthe GS, and 14 days after the event at different height levels.Theknowledge of the deviation of the seasonal profile during a geomagneticstorm will help to assess the possibledeviation from the expectedcosmic ray flux at the station during these GS events. The atmosphericprofile withheight is necessary to perform the Monte Carlo simulationsof secondary cosmic rays showers, so this kind ofstudy will help toimprove them.
